If you’re like most people, you haven’t kept in touch with everyone from your past. Some of your clients have probably stopped doing business with you and you probably haven’t communicated with them in a few months or years.
So how can you bridge this communication gap? How can you rebuild a channel of dialogue so they can become a client, partner or friend again?

Erin Jacobs has put together a good article on “How to Email Old Contacts in the New Year” that talks about this specifically. I recommend you check it out.
Here are a few points she makes:
- Create a new email campaign announcing your newsletter.
- Begin by reminding them of how they know you. Did they buy from you? If so, what did they buy? Did you meet them at a conference or trade show? If so, mention the name of the event.
- Acknowledge that it’s been some time and that you’d like to reconnect.
