Over the last couple weeks, I’ve been running WordPress 2.9 through the ringer and it had a few bugs (around a few plugins & scheduling functions) in it as you might expect any new software release to contain. WordPress 2.9.1 was released as a follow up to fix all the main bugs that were found and we’ve been testing it out on a few hobby sites. Everything looked good so we backed up our main website and upgraded to 2.9.1 and everything has been working smoothly.

If you’re a client and your website is running 2.9 or less, it might be okay to upgrade to 2.9.1 depending on your plugins. If you’d like us to upgrade your website for you, just send in an email to [email protected] requesting the upgrade and we’ll get your website to the newest code.

Why would you want to upgrade to 2.9.1?

  • Sexy new image editor that lets you crop, resize and edit images from your browser.
  • Code seems to run faster.
  • Will allow for smoother transition to WordPress 3.x when it is released.
