Aiso.net:
“Our servers are extremely locked down so there is no way to make your script work on our system. Your site and database is backed up hourly so you are safe.
We tried to get it running but it won’t”
Hi Melvin,
I’ve just migrated my web sites to a new web hosting provider called PacificHost.com and their web servers run on LiteSpeed (instead of Apache). The proble I’m having with AWB 2 now, is that LiteSpeed supports gzip and not zip! Is there a possibility that AWB 2 could support gzip as well as zip any time soon?
It’s a shame cause everything else is supported by Pacific Host.
Cheers,
Olivier
I can confirm that, myhosting.com is not compatible with the plugin.
I received an email saying that: “…We have been informed by our operations department that we cannot enable that feature for security reasons. We cannot do this in our shared hosting environment as it will adjust for all sites hosted on the server…”
problem was: currently they dont support / provide: shell_exec and zip
so if you are gonna have a wordpress heavy site and planning to use this plugin, you might consider keeping away from myhosting.com, at least, until they can find a solution
It’s not working with Servage
Everything looks OK in wp-admin’s pluginpage, and it says it has backed it up but no backup is showing. The bucket on Amazone S3 is also empty (after 12 hours)
Looks like it works anyway. Aafter 24 hours it shows up in s3 an in the plugin settings
Hi Melvin,
Just to let you know that this awesome plugin now works with pacifichost.com.
Cheers,
Olivier
This is such a deep blog! What can I say, youve hit the nail right on the head! You even added some videos to make it seem so much more real. Youve got a great way of communicating with the reader, a great way of making me feel like what you have to say is just as important to me as it is to you. Keep it up!
It also work on WPwebhost.com
Great plugin, I have found it works with Media Temple. Not so much luck with Siteground.
Thanks for you work Muz!
Hi
I installed 2.0.3 successfully on my site at but when I hit “save and backup now” it comes back shortly afterward with a message that the backup has completed. But when I click “refresh now to see backup” it doesn’t show up.
When I look in S3 I can see the bucket I created from the plugin but there is nothing inside.
The Plugin Requirements is all green.
The site is hosted by serverchoice.com. We have a lot of video – could this be the problem?
Thanks in advance for any help you can give me
Hugo
Thanks for writing this plugin, Melvin. I’m getting an error after clicking “Save and back up now”:
Automatic WordPress Backup: You need to select a valid S3 bucket. If you tried to create a new bucket, it may have been an invalid name.
Nothing happens when I click on “Plugin Settings,” and the many of the UI elements seem to have disappeared. I’m using the new Multisite feature in WP 3.0, but other than that there’s nothing special about my setup. Any help would be greatly appreciated!
