We pushed out a few updates couple updates to Automatic WordPress Backup last night and I wanted to share with you what’s changed:
- Updated General options page. (We really do need your support in order to financially justify the continued development of this plugin.)
- Fixed a few bugs.
- Altered the SQL dumps to include “drop table” calls so that it could be used by the restore functionality we’re currently working on.
For your backup to be compatible with the Restore functionality we’re building, it will need to be created with v 1.0.2 or higher so please upgrade as soon as possible.
PS: Future updates will get added to a changelog as well as a blog post.

I installed the plug-in with no probs, entered all of the necessary information….but no back-up was made.
When I looked on the Amazon s3 site it had made the bucket – but it was empty. On looking at the PHP info of the shared server I could see that shell_exec was disabled.
Is there any way of getting this plug-in to work with out the use of shell_exec?
Unfortunately there isn’t. In a future version we might address this but right now there isn’t.
